On December 22nd, the 2024 International Students' New Year Celebration was successfully held in Nanyuan Dining Hall on the main campus of NENU. Liu Jiuqing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC of NENU, Zhang Jingping, Director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange, deputy directors in charge of foreign affairs of some schools, and more than 400 international students attended the event.
Prof. Liu Jiuqing delivered the speech on behalf of the university at the Party. He first summarized the services provided by the university for international students in 2023, and fully affirmed our achievements in the enrollment,services and other aspects related to international students in the past year. He said that 2024 is a critical period for the “14th Five-Year Plan” of NENU. In the new year, we will continue to practice the concept of "Education with Respect and Education with Creativity", deepen the construction of the mechanism and system for Studying at NENU, open up to the outside world with high-quality education, and promote the development of Studying at NENU. Finally, Prof. Liu encouraged international students to cherish their time, study hard, contribute to the development of their country and nation, and become a bridge of friendship between the people of China and people all over the world.
During the awarding ceremony, 57 international students including Takacs Tamas, a Hungarian master student from the Faculty of Education were awarded to encourage them to work harder on their studying, research and activities and set a good example for other students.
At the party, Chinese and international students presented various forms of cultural performances, such as dancing, songs, poetry recitation and musical instrument performance. In addition, students experienced the traditional festival activities in China, such as making jiaozi and paper cutting, to express their good wishes for the New Year.
As an important activity for international students at NENU, the International Students New Year Party has attracted extensive attention and high appreciation from international students and their families.In the future, NENU will continue to enrich the content of international students’ activities, build more communication platforms, create a better campus international atmosphere, and help the university make greater achievements in opening up.
