To encourage international students to study diligently, maintain a positive attitude, enhance the university's reputation, and attract more international students, NENU has established the NENU Scholarships for Outstanding Self-Financed International Students. The application details for this academic year are as follows:
Ⅰ.Eligibility
(1)Basic requirements:
1.Applicants must comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and NENU's rules. They should excel academically, demonstrate a positive attitude, exhibit good conduct, respect their teachers, and actively participate in various school activities, showcasing an overall excellent performance.
2.Applicants should have paid all fees and maintain a clean behavioral record.
3.Recipients of other scholarships or tuition-free exchange students are not eligible to apply.
(2)Degree Student Requirements:
1.Applicants must be self-financed international students in their second year or above (undergraduate transfer students must have studied for at least one year).They should be honest, diligent in their studies, and have a strong overall performance
2.They must have completed all compulsory courses, and met the minimum elective credit requirements according to their program's training plan in the previous academic year.
3.Attendance rate in the previous academic year should be no less than 90%, and academic performance must be within the top 5% among international students in their major, with no failing grades or disciplinary violations.
4.Preference is given to those who have participated in academic conferences or published high-level papers in international journals (proof of participation or copies of published papers are required).
(3)The requirements for advanced student applicants are as follows:
1.Applicants must be normally registered at NENU and have studied for at least one semester.
2.They should be honest, diligent in their studies, and have a strong overall performance.
3.Attendance rate in the previous semester should be no less than 90%, with a minimum of 12 credits earned from relevant courses in the previous semester.
Ⅱ、Selection Process
(1)Scholarships for degree students are awarded annually, while scholarships for advanced students are awarded each semester. Students can apply for these scholarships continuously during their study period, but the academic performance in the final year before graduation and during any extended study period cannot be used for the application.
(2)Students in one of the following circumstances in the previous academic year or semester are generally not eligible for scholarships:
1.Applicants with undischarged punishments for violating the law and school discipline, or those who have been informed criticism by the university or schools in the previous academic year (semester);
2.Generally, applicants who have applied for study suspension, retention or extension of study in the previous academic year (semester), and those who were not in China in the previous academic year (semester) are not eligible for the scholarships;
3.Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have failed any of the compulsory and elective courses (including public elective courses) during the previous academic year (semester).
Ⅲ、Quota
Note:
1.If no qualified applicants are found in a given year, the awards may remain vacant or the number of awards in different categories may be adjusted based on the actual situation;
2.Advanced students including general advanced students, senior advanced students and language students.
Ⅳ、Required Documents
(1)Students apply voluntarily. Applicants should download and complete the "Application Form for NENU Outstanding Self-financed International Students Scholarship" (available at iso.nenu.edu.cn→Downloads). After approval from the school and dormitory management office, submit the form to the International Students Office.
(2)Transcripts must be submitted along with the application form (degree students should submit transcripts from the previous academic year, and advanced students should submit transcripts from the previous semester).
(3)Other supporting materials such as certificates of participation in various activities, award certificates, or proof of research achievements may also be submitted.
