On November 6, the annual Masquerade Party of was held by NISA, international
students from all schools participated in this costume party, which was an amazing
experience to the international students.
Entering the hall, students could draw the sense of Halloween
from the gothic decorations: colorful balloons and pumpkin lamps, traditional Chinese
candles, skull sculptures, frightening but appealing. To enhance the settings,
not only the host dressed up like a vampire from the novel, but all of the
staff wore the pumpkin and sunflower hairpins.
The masquerade party started with an ice-breaking game called
“Twister”, participants stepping on the exact colors based on the host’s order.
The game cheered everyone up at present. The audience was so excited that they
all screamed one more time, one more!
The next phase of the masquerade party was the main course —dancing. Lights dimmed, music loud, flash lights on, the whole party
got heated. No need to worry about the dancing skills or dancing forms, no
matter what personalities the students had, they all started dancing with the
music. Students from Russia, South Korea, and Pakistan performed folk dances
with their traditional national characteristics. Not having enough fun, the
great dancers even challenged each other even though the party was supposed to
be over.
The party was a huge success because of the meticulous
preparations of NISA members and enthusiasm of the participants. The masquerade
party was a valuable opportunity for the students to release the stress of
study and enjoy themselves in dancing.
