I. Qualifications
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
2. Applicants should excel in their studies, demonstrate self-conduct, maintain good mental and physical health, and adhere to Chinese laws and regulations.
3. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent education.
4. For Chinese citizens who have emigrated abroad, applicants must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years and have a record of actually residing in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (before April 30, 2025) (Actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year based on the entry and exit stamps).
5. If both parents or one of them is a Chinese citizen and lives in a foreign country, and the applicant was born with foreign nationality, he or she must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years and have a record of actually living in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (before April 30, 2025) (Actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year based on the entry and exit stamps).

III. Application Documents
Please prepare the required documents, log into the NENU International Students Application System (http://studyatnenu.nenu.edu.cn), fill in your personal information in English or Chinese, and upload the required documents.
1. Copy of the passport home page and Chinese visa pages(if any). Passports should be valid later than September 2025.
2. Notarized high school diploma and transcripts. Prospective diploma recipients must submit official proof of student status issued by their current school. Applicants must obtain the final diploma before September 2025. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.
3. Proof of language proficiency (refer to the major list for specific requirements).
4. Study plan, with a minimum of 600 words, including self-introduction, study experience, and study plan in China, written in Chinese or English.
5. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The form is issued by the Chinese quarantine authority and must be completed in English. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Form. Incomplete records or those lacking the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered invalid. Please choose an appropriate time to undergo a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.
6. Non-criminal record report. The applicant must submit a valid certificate of a non-criminal record issued by the local public security authority, issued within 6 months before the application submission date.
7. Certificate or proof of participation in various competitions and cultural and sports activities (if applicable).
8. Any other supporting documents required by the International Students Office.
Reminder: Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are advised to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants are responsible for any consequences arising from unclear or unidentifiable uploaded documents.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship(Only for the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages ): April 30, 2025
V. Application Procedures
1. Prepare the required documents, log into the NENU International Students Application System (http://studyatnenu.nenu.edu.cn), complete the online application in English or Chinese, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee(RMB400 Yuan) online.
2. NENU will review the applicant’s academic background, language proficiency, and professional ability, and conduct an online interview based on merit. Interview notification will be sent via email, please pay attention to your email.
3. NENU will notify the applicants of the final results by email before the end of July.
VI. Fees

VII. Scholarships
1. CSC Scholarship Bilateral Program(Type A)
Apply through the dispatching authorities in your home country, typically the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate. All undergraduate majors are eligible to apply. If applicants can’t meet language requirements, they can apply for an extra one-year language learning course.
2. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
For students interested in the Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages major, apply directly to NENU. Please refer to the Application Guide for NENU International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship for application requirements and necessary documents.
3. NENU President’s Scholarship for Outstanding International Students
To encourage international students to study diligently, maintain a positive attitude, enhance NENU’s reputation, and attract more outstanding international students, NENU has established the President’s Scholarship for Outstanding International Students. This scholarship provides full coverage, is comprehensively evaluated each year among the self-financed students who are qualified for enrollment and is awarded based on academic achievement, language proficiency, comprehensive quality, development potential, and other aspects and based on merit.
VIII. Important Notes
1. Original application documents must be submitted during registration at NENU.
2. The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether you are accepted or not.
3. NENU may contact the applicants via email to request additional documents and inform them of the final results. Please make sure to fill in the accurate contact email address.
4. Enrollment eligibility will not be reserved if a student fails to register before the registration deadline. Students cannot invite family members without permission from the hosting university.
5. All documents submitted must be truthful, accurate, and complete. NENU reserves the right to withdraw offers of admission or expel enrolled students otherwise.
