October 29, a Chinese Corner was held by NISA with the theme of
paper-cutting. International students and NISA members were very enthusiastic about
this activity even though the temperature was getting cold.
The Chinese Corner began with an ice-breaking game called In The
Same Boat(同舟共济), which
everyone enjoyed it very much!
Then the NISA members taught the international students how to
make beautiful paper-cuts, such as the complex Chinese character “囍”(luck or happy) and “壽”(longevity). After that, the international
students cut their own works with imagination.
In the end, the top 7 works were awarded with exquisite paper-cut
souvenirs.
Paper-cut, one of the most important folk cultures in Chinese
history. Therefore, this Chinese Corner not only helps to promote the
friendship between international students and Chinese students but also is conducive
to international students who learn more about the Chinese culture.
