Notice on the Registration for Autumn Semester 2023

Dear International Students,

NENU International students must go to the International Students Office for registration within the designated time every semester (self-financed majoring in Chinese and foundation students please follow the instructions of the International School of Chinese Studies). Those who are unable to register on time for any reason should apply for an extension of registration to the ISO and your school. International students who fail to register at ISO and school within the specified time limit without any justifiable reasons are treated as automatically withdrawn from NENU.

The university will conduct a preliminary examination of the new students' nationality and other identity qualifications, admission qualifications, health conditions, licenses, academic certificates, etc., at the time of registration, and those who pass the examination will be registered; those who fail to pass the examination will be dealt with by the university under different circumstances until their admission qualifications are canceled.

At the beginning of each semester, international students should pay the tuition and accommodation fees, apply for the residence permit, complete the insurance and other registration procedures, and then register at your school with the registration documents issued by ISO to complete the selection of courses under the guidance of the school.

Students who do not pay the tuition fee according to the regulations of the university or who do not fulfill the registration conditions will not be registered. International students who violate the registration regulations in serious cases will be automatically withdrawn from the university, and their registration will be canceled and reported to the Immigration Office for cancellation of their residence permits. International students whose registration has been canceled must go through the procedure of leaving the university and leaving China within the specified period. Unregistered international students are not entitled to be treated as on-campus students and are responsible for the consequences.

Please complete online registration for the Autumn Semester from August 30 to September 1 from 8:00-11:00, 13:30-16:30 at the International Students Office (ISO, Room 624, Administration Building). (Self-financed majoring in Chinese and foundation students please register at the International School of Chinese Studies) The specific steps are as follows:

1. Registration for Continuing Students

The documents you need to take with you are 1) Passport; 2) ID photo; 3) Insurance Receipt.

2. Registration for New Students

All of the documents are required for registration at ISO: 1)passport; 2)2 copies of the passport page and visa page(with the entry stamp); 3)2 copies of the Admission Notice and JW201/202 Form; 4)original Admission Notice and JW202 Form; 5)2 white background ID photo; 6)Insurance Receipt; 7)cell phone number, Wexin ID; 8)Highest degree diploma and transcripts (degree students only); 9) Letter of Commitment to Safety Responsibilities from International Students of Northeast Normal University(hard copy)

3. Registration at School and Selecting Courses

Students are required to register at their school with the documents: 1) the School Registration Form; 2) a copy of their passport; 3) the Student Form; 4) the Admission Notice; and 5) the Supervisor Form (the school will try to match you with a supervisor if you do not have one).

Please note that the two compulsory courses Chinese Language and China Panorama are arranged by the International School of Chinese Studies. You can scan the QR code below to register for the two compulsory courses. If you cancel or change the class without permission from the International School of Chinese Studies, it will be regarded as invalid and you cannot get the credits. Also, it will be shown on your attendance record.

4.Instruction for Physical Examination and Residence Permit

Students with a X1 visa need to apply for a residence permit within 30 days counting from the date on the entry stamp. Please follow ISO’s instructions about residence permit application. The period of validity of the X2 visa is 150. It counts from the date of entry.

5. Extra Online Registration for CSC students

All of the CSC students should complete the extra registration from September 1 to September 15 according to China Scholarship Council. The instructions are as follows:

Step 1: You can log in using your CSC number at the website https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login. The password is the one you used when applying. If you forget it, please reset it.

Step 2: After successful login, the following page will be displayed, click on “Registration”.

Step 3: Please remember your CSC number! Then click on the teaching mode by selecting "offline". After selecting, please fill in the backup email address, which is a required item. Finally, click to confirm registration.

CSC students please send an email to luf925@nenu.edu.cn if you have problems while you are doing the extra registration.

6.Self-financed students majoring in Chinese and foundation year students please contact the International School of Chinese Studies about the specific procedures of registration, course selection, and visa application.
